Tom Purnell published a little WordPress widget (Twitpress) that sends out a twitter every time you publish a new post on your blog. Sorry - twitter is still new to me. I still can’t get over using words like twit in a serious way. And yet, twitter is strangely addictive.

Twitter has a badge (widget) that allows you to use javascript to post your latest twitter…  pardon me, tweets, … on your website. It’s great. Better than publishing my tweets as an RSS feed because it includes time information from when the tweet was tweeted, but if I could only find a WordPress widget that allows me to control how many tweets get tweeted on my site, I would be just chirpy.

The goal is to create a large sweeping net connecting all of my social networking site accounts together. We were able to publish our Webdiggin blog RSS feeds on our WebDiggin facebook profile by using their notes application. Our WebDiggin Technorati profile automatically includes exerpts of our blog, given that Technorati continuously trolls the net for the latest blog posts (that use a ping service).

With TwitPress, our latest posts will be updated on our WebDiggin Twitter profile, so now, that just leaves our WebDiggin MySpace profile.

We’ll keep you posted on how well this plugin works.
