I love the Google AdSense Ads that you see beside this post. Make money online: $3,000 per day guaranteed, or $300 per day, or just vague promises like “increase revenue”. Here’s the scoop from someone starting out, just like you. I’m still in the negatives. What does that mean? I’ve spent more money bidding on keywords with Google AdWords or Yahoo Search Marketing, than I have receiving commission from Commission Junction. Oh, don’t get me wrong. I still believe that you can make money using Affiliate Marketing. I still believe that you can make thousands, if not millions of dollars. It’s just not easy. One day, I’ll post my current losses. But not today - there are too many nay-sayers and dream-squishers out there and I don’t need to hear from them.
I will say this, however. I’ve recently started my first “successful” search marketing campaign. (If you’re not sure what “search” marketing is, you can read about it in this post.) Up until now, most of my search marketing campaigns have been running at a loss. This week, I launched a campaign where two of my ad groups actually generated income (enough to cover some of the other ad groups that were generating a loss.) It’s exciting because you can see the potential of affiliate marketing. I set up the campaigns with Google and Yahoo in the morning, checked in on them in the evening and it’s nice to see the commission sitting in Commission Junction.
So, as you can see, my current focus is on trying to get this campaign to float on the positive side of things. We’ll keep you posted.
