I’m currently experimenting with several ways to generate online income. I’ve started a few search marketing campaigns, and now I’m branching into creating affiliate cashflow by blogging. It’s been a steep learning curve. I’ve created a new site and had to figure out how to submit the blog to Google and Technorati:
Google
(Note: You can access all of these pages from Google’s webmaster central page.)
- Click here to check to see if your address is being indexed by Google.
- Click here to add your blog address directly to Google on their submit your URL page.
- Click here to set up your blog or website to use Google’s statistics, diagnostics and management tools. From this page, after you submit your site, you will have to get it verified by Google by adding a line of code (a Meta tag) to the header of your blog. After your site is verified, you can get Google’s view of your website, and diagnose potential problems. You can see how Google crawls and indexes your site and learn about specific problems they’re having accessing it. You can see how your site is performing, identify which queries drive traffic to your site, and see exactly how users arrive there.
Technorati
Technorati is a site that tracks millions of blogs and social media (user generated content including photos, videos, polls, etc). They claim to be the recognized authority on what’s happening on the World Live Web, right now. If you blog, they’ll find you anyways, but here’s the way to verify your blog as yours and use their services…
- Click on the Join button and create an account.
- From your account window, click on the blogs tag and claim your blog. Claiming your blog establishes that you are its owner, and allows you to use Technorati services to increase your blog’s visibility.
- You can claim your blog in 2 ways: Either by entering in your blog password information (which they use only once to confirm it’s your blog, or by creating a post on your blog that has a specific link (you can delete the post after Technorati confirms your existance).
On the road to making my first million.
