Whoops. Yahoo’s change to their keyword bidding system is effective today (Apr 18, 2008). I guess now, we’ll see if our one search marketing campaign that we got working dies.

We got this in our email from Yahoo today:

Pricing Update: Minimum Bids are no Longer Fixed at $.10

Starting today, the minimum bids for some Sponsored Search keywords are no longer fixed at $.10. Minimum bids can now be lower or higher than $.10. Content Match minimum bids currently will remain at $.10. Throughout the next week, you may start noticing new minimum bids on some of your keywords. You will be notified by email and within your account when the status of any of your keywords is affected.

Hey Dennis - If you’re thinking of trying Yahoo Search Marketing - do a google search for a $100 coupon credit. We don’t have one, but we’ve seen them mentioned around in the forums. I think you have an initial sign up fee of $30, but then you get the $100 credit.

Our YSM campaign is still alive… but we’ve noticed recently our ad quality has dropped from 5 out of 5 to 2 out of 5. We’re still trying to figure out why.
