(BlueHost Review - Why We Switched...)

Two weeks ago, we were the 8,911,336th best blog in the world according to our Technorati profile. Today, we are the 2,910,025 best blog in the world. What are we doing right?

Well, first of all, the rank is arbitrary, right? (We have an Alexa traffic rank of 6,747,737). But why did we jump in the Technorati rankings? Because we have two other blogs that have posted a link to posts on our site.

One referring blog is stealing content from this site. But, because we have a link to our own post in the first paragraph, we at least get the link and the traffic rating on Technorati goes up. (We improved to be the 4,446,976 best blog in the world with that link)

The second blog comes from Stephen Datoc’s blog. We made a comment in response to him wondering who reads his stuff and he made a subsequent post thanking people who were checking him out from the blogosphere.

So. Now, we’re on a mission to see how many other blogs we can have linking to webdiggin.com. Presumably, better ranked blogs on technorati get more traffic from technorati and we’ve noticed that we get more traffic from technorati than from google.

Bottom Line: Each blog that has a link to one of your posts improves your ranking in Technorati.
